This acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure this item under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Abbott Electronics Inc. as the sole manufacturer of the Sonobuoy Simulator Test Set to be acquired, is the only known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data necessary for the manufacturer and the design/application requirements involved. Firms that recognize and produce the required items are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (0177)
