The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Indianapolis intends to negotiate with Orbital Science Corp., Fairchild Defense, Germantown, MD for 300 part number 5921001780 Solar Shield Assemblies on a sole source basis. The Contracting Officer has determined that IAW FAR 6.302-1 Orbital Science Corp. is the only responsible source and no other assembly is available that will satisfy the form, fit and function requirements. The Government has no drawing or specification rights and therefore drawings and specifications are not available from the Government. The Solar Shield assembly is a add-on retrofit kit assembly for the Fairchild Defense Mission Data Loader for the FA-18 platform. See numbered Note 22. (173)
