This directorate intends to issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) F29650-96-B0025 on or about 18 Aug 96. Responses will be due approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The Government intends to procure this project under full and open (unrestricted) competition. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 with an estimated performance period of 250 calendar days. Contractors bidding as the prime contractor must have a primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code of 1542 with a size standard of $17.0M. In general the work includes installation of new lighting, ceiling, seating, carpeting, wall covering, entry doors, writing surfaces, diffusers, plumbing and tile (in restroom), re-shaping concrete floor, abating small amounts of asbestos and lead-based paint, and upgrading electrical systems for state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment. A major option item consists of renovating the HVAC system in two-thirds of the building, removing and replacing various mixing boxes, plenums, air handling units, piping, and ductwork, electrical support of HVAC, patching of ceilings, and abating small amounts of asbestos. Please note that funds are not presently available, however, they have been requested. This IFB is based upon your understanding that (1) funds are not available and (2) if funds do not become available no obligation will be incurred by the Government because of this IFB.
