This directorate intends to issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) F29650-96-B0023 on or about 18 Aug 96. Responses will be due approximately thirty (30) days thereafter. The Government intends to procure this project under full and open (unrestricted) competition. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 for a basic and one one-year option periods. Contractors bidding as the prime contractor must have a primary Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code of 1731 with a size standard of $7.0M. In general the work consists of replacing in-line electric switches and their wooden poles on 46 kilovolt lines with new switches and steel poles. Switches will be replaced in order of priority as determined by the Government. Please note that funds are not presently available, however, they have been requested. This IFB is based upon your understanding that (1) funds are not available and (2) if funds do not become available no obligation will be incurred by the Government because of this IFB.
