VELOCIMETER SOL N00421-96-R-1155 DUE 082296 POC Greg Webster, Contract
Specialist, (301) 342-1825 x202, Doris Browder, Contracting Officer.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Patuxent River, Maryland
has a requirement for a three axes traversing system. This traversing
system is required for the alignment of a three component Laser Doppler
Velocimeter (LDV) and for the measurement of the flow field around
models in a subsonic open return wind tunnel. The alignment of the LDV
and the measurement of the flow field require a three axes traversing
system that can move a three component LDV in back scatter, allows a
component to be placed 90 degrees from the other two components, and is
able to traverse one meter in the X, Y, and Z axes. The system shall be
accurate, rigid, and rugged and must have the ability to move the
orthogonal axial component optics. Furthermore, the traversing system
shall not be designed as a permanent structure, but rather must be
capable of being assembled and disassembled by users with hand held
tools. At contract award the government will have the option to
purchase none, one, or two manual rotation stages and appropriate
mounting plates for the system. Delivery requirement is six months
after contract award. This requirement will be negotiated on an
unrestricted basis as a firm fixed price contract. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by this agency.
The anticipated solicitation release date is 22 July 1996. Requests
