FCGS-X5-94-0039-2-N invites you to offer products under the new

66 part II section a Federal supply schedule. This will be an
''open-continuous'' (Evergreen) special item number. Offers may be

definition of the new Technologies special item number (SIN) is a new
product or an upgraded products (as to be virtually a new product) made
available to the Commercial or Government marketplace. This product
must meet the special provisions outlined below. Offers for new
technology items will be considered only under the following
conditions:(a) the offeror must be capable of demonstrating that the
product meets at least one of the following three conditions which
provide a product that is not otherwise available to the Government:
(1) performs a new task or procedure not currently offered under any
GSA contract; (2) performs an Old task or procedure in a new way which
technically exceeds current products; and (3) improves an existing
product so significantly that Government customers will be negatively
impacted if the item is not added to the schedule.(B) the product must
be classifiable in a Federal supply class identified in the Federal
supply schedule.(C) as determined by the Government, there are NO
similar items currently available under an existing SIN or pending
competitive acquisition.(D) the product could be included in an
existing SIN or has the potential for inclusion within the schedule
with a new SIN. Offerors must understand that there is NO implied
guarantee that the product offered will be recognized and accepted as
new technology. All items will be reviewed for acceptance by the
Government'S technical experts. The new Technologies SIN is intended
for the temporary placement of products until the item can be formally
placed under an existing or newly created SIN. Offerors/contractors
understand that the item can be formally placed on an existing or newly
created SIN on the schedule. Offerors/contractors understand that the
item must be offered under the appropriate SIN during the next regular
open Season/basic Solicitation or It will be canceled. It is
theofferors/contractors' responsibility to be aware of the open
Season/basicsolicitation issuance. New SINS established for new
technology items must meet established sales criteria or the SIN will
be canceled. All other terms and conditions of current contractors
still apply.(0178) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0390 19960627\66-0017.SOL)
