James Iannelli FAX: 703-697-7433 Defense Supply Service-Washington (DSS-W) in support of Continuous Acquisition and Life-Cycle Support (CALS) Office, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense, Logistics intends to issue a sole-source contract to ManTech Advanced Systems International Incorporated for the acquisition of continuing development, test and evaluation of the Integrated Data Environment (IDE). This effort requires highly specialized ability, skills and knowledge of national and international information technology standards, including: ISO 10303, Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data; UN/EDIFACT, the international standard for electronic data exchange (EDI); ASC X12, the US national standard for EDI; DoD Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) specifications MIL-M-87268 and MIL-D-87269; the proposed Metafile for Interactive Documents specification; EIA 649, the US national standard for Configuration Management; MIL-STD-2549, the DoD Configuration Management Interface Standard; MIL-STD-974, Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service; Defense CALS Network Concept of Operations, Standards and Business Case; Military Service IETM capabilities embodied in IADS, AIMSS and JIMIS; DoD core CALS infrastructure systems including JCALS, JEDMICS and CMIS; ISO 10179, 10744 and 8879 and related CALS 28000 series standards for electronic technical manuals; IDE information system security alternatives, including the DoD fortezza technology; and the Common Object Request Broker Architecture. This is a notification of intent to procure on a sole source basis.
