Skipper, (912) 767-1868 (Site Code DAKF10) The Army requires a contract for Aerial Burning at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Contractor will be required to provide two (2) aerial igition systems to facilitate prescribed burning operations of range and woodland areas within the boundaries of Fort Stewart, Georgia. One (1) system, the helitorch, will be used on ranges and impact areas where fire itensity is of minor concern. The second system, Aerial Igition Device (AID), will be used to under burn stands of merchantable timber where fire itensity is a major consideration. The two systems should be compatible with the same aircraft and interchangeable within one hour notice. The helitorch and AID system will ingite ground fuel on a grid system with spots located from 30 to 100 feed apart as prescribed by a Goverment forester. The contractor shall be responsible for igniting the grid pattern with an accuracy of +/- 20% at a groud speed of 60 mph with ground winds 10 mph or less. The contract period shall begin 1 December 1996 and continue through 31 May 1997 (guaranteed 150 hrs flight time). Contract will contain an optional item for 25 hours of flight time after completion of guaranteed time, but not later than 30 June 1997. All responsible small business concerns may submit a bid which will be considered. SIC is 0851. There is a non- refundable fee in the amount of $10.00 for this solicitation. The fee should be in form of company check, certified check, or money order made payable to TREASURER OF THE UNITED STATES. CASH is not acceptable. All requests for solicitations must be in writing.
