shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation,
supervision and disposal necessary to construct a new wharf at the USCG
Aids to Navigation Team (ANT) facility on Esopus Creek, Saugerties, NY.
Work includes construction of 76' x 20' reinforced concrete wharf
supported by 12 concrete filled steel piles and 152 LF of concrete pile
cap, installation of electrical shoretie, water shoretie, telephone
shoretie conduit, enlargement of existing parking area by approximately
315 SY with new asphalt paving, resurfacing 1225 SY of existing asphalt
parking area, and installation of approximately 900 SF of new concrete
sidewalks. The estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and
$250,000. SIC code is 1629. Total contract performance time is 90
calendar days. Solicitation Packages to be available on or about JULY
18, 1996. Packages may be obtained by sending a non refundable check in
the amount of $20 payable to U.S. Coast Guard, to the address listed
above. Requests will be honored until supply is exhausted. The bid
opening date will be on or about August 19, 1996. This project is
issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS
INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS
ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000. For
