Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a cost plus fixed-fee (CPFF)
delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-94-G-0291
with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace for engineering support for
integration of Naval Aircrew Common Ejection Seat (NACES), On-Board
Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS), Anti-G, Thin Layer Explosive (TLX)
and Cockpit Video Recorder System (CVRS). The anticipated period of
performance is twelve (12) months. As sole designer, developer,
manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 aircraft, MDA is the only firm
which possesses the requisite knowledge of the aircraft's design and
operation in order to provide support for this integration effort.
Additionally, only MDA has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data and
expertise, facilities and test equipment to provide the Government's
minimum needs in a timely manner. See note No. 22 - NAVAIR Synopsis No.
