A -- DRAFT ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPPORTUNITY POC Dr. David Gilman tel: 202/358-0349 Announcement of Opportunity for Discovery Program (DRAFT#2) The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is considering a major revision to the draft Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for the fifth flight mission in its Discovery Mission series that was originally released April 1996. This revision is intended to simplify the proposed process for the proposers, while satisfying all procurement regulations and assuring fair competition by all teams, whether from private sector or from a government facility. In order to assure that this change meets the objectives of the Discovery Program and the expectations of the investigation teams, a new draft is being released for community comments. The draft will be available electronically on the Solar System Exploration homepage about July 17, 1996: ''http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/solar_system/''.
