Perkins, Facilities Contract Specialist, 901/747-7628 The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the design and construction of approximately 50,000 square feet addition to the existing USPS-owned building at the South Jersey (Bellmawr), New Jersey Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC). The contractor shall be responsible for the design and construction of the P&DC Expansion project, containing a general workroom, storage and maintenance areas, battery room, toilet rooms and loading docks. Site work includes modifications to accommodate truck maneuvering requirements, trailer and employee parking. This includes the demolition and reconstruction of a 1,056 s.f. postal-owned concrete masonry storage building, site grading and site security and demolition and relocation of pre-engineered exterior canopies. Asbestos containment shall be in accordance to stringent Postal Service Management Instructions and Federal Regulations. Phased construction is mandatory to permit continued facility and transportation operations on a 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week basis. The issue date for the above project is July 2, 1996, and the return date is August 6, 1996. The performance time is 300 days. The estimated cost range, for the entire project, is between $3,000,000 and $4,500,000, and includes an offer alternate. A Preproposal Conference is scheduled for July 16, 1996, at 9:00 a.m., convening in the Main Conference Room at the Processing & Distribution Center, 421 Benigno Blvd., Bellmawr, New Jersey 08031-9997.
