617-861-1642. Lexington/Concord Chapter of the Armed Forces
Communications and Electronics Association Industry Showcase August 14,
15, 16, 19, 20, and 21, 1996. The Lexington/Concord Chapter of the
Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) is
requesting industry participation for an Industry Showcase on Hanscom
Air Force Base during August 14, 15, and 16 1996. Depending on industry
response, the showcase will be extended to include 19, 20, and 21
August. The showcase will coincide with and is immediately adjacent to
Electronic System Center's (ESC's) Fort Franklin field exercises. The
showcase will be an opportunity for industry to demonstrate their
leading edge, state-of-the-art capabilities in Command, Control,
Communications, and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and
Modeling and Simulation. The showcase will theme existing and future
capabilities, interoperability, off-the-shelf products, and
commercially available technology. It is anticipated that all senior
and key ESC staff will attend. A number of senior Air Force Materiel
Command, Secretary of the Air Force, and other Pentagon distinguished
visitors are expected to view the exhibits sometime during the 14-16
August time period. During the 19-21 August time period, NATO coalition
and foreign distinguished visitors, as well as ESC personnel are
expected to pass through Fort Franklin. Set-up for vendors will be the
afternoons and evenings of August 13 and 18, with tear down the
evenings of August 16 and 21. Storage for cases will be provided but
may not be immediately on-site. Parking will be available near the
site. There will be both indoor and outdoor display areas available.
Indoor displays will be located inside a 40 by 100 foot air conditioned
tent. Power will be provided for vendors. Until industry responses are
received, indoor displays will be limited to an area of 10 by 10 feet
total. There will be no provisions or ability to bring in telephone
circuits for vendor displays. Vendors desiring to demonstrate satellite
or radar systems must provide transmit frequencies for approval of the
display, to ensure deconfliction. All vendors need to have stand-alone
demonstrations. All exhibits and materials must be unclassified. Larger
mobile/tactical displays and systems will be hosted outside the tent
area. Outside displays will be exposed to the elements for the duration
of the showcase and protection or shelter will not be available. Power
will be provided to these exhibits as well. Perimeter security of the
AFCEA Industry Showcase area will be provided by ESC. However, the
government cannot assume liability for loss or damage. Vendors
interested in participating need to provide the following information:
1) A brief synopsis of the system(s)/capabilities to be displayed, to
include the type of equipment. Describe the applicability of the
display in relationship to the above mentioned showcase objectives.
Recommend submitting an 8 x 10 photo or brochure. 2) Identify which
periods you wish to participate (14-16 August, or 14-16 and 19-21
August). Again, the 19-21 August period will be used based on industry
demand. 3) Identify whether display is indoor or outdoor. We will only
entertain one display per vendor until we can assess participation,
total space, and power needs. If additional space is available
outdoors, we may allow for an additional display for vendors. Please
identify your desire for a second (outdoor) display in your synopsis.
Strongly recommend a single point of contact be identified within each
company to ensure only one request is submitted per company. 4)
Identify any radar or satellite frequencies your system will be
transmitting on, power (watts), and expected frequency and duration of
transmissions. 5) Provide electrical power requirements for your
display. (Voltage and Watts). 6) Provide a check for $100, payable to
AFCEA. This fee is for covering AFCEA administrative costs. 7) Provide
name and company affiliation of the people who will be demonstrating
at your display. 8) Provide a single point of contact for your company,
who will coordinate your Showcase effort. Mail information and check
to: AFCEA, c/o Claire Goulet, Analytical Systems Engineering
