The project is for the construction of a 3,405 square foot free standing building with an 876 square foot exterior wash bay connected to one end of the structure. The purpose of this building is to provide a covered area for equipment inspection and servicing, minor maintenance, washing and weather protection for snow removal and heavy equipment assigned to the base. The project scope includes, but is not limited to Structural (foundation, exterior walls, roof structure), Architectural (interior and exterior finishes), Mechanical (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing), and Electrical (service entrance, general power and lighting). The project will include a base bid as well as bid additives, all of which must be addressed in order to be considered for this project. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment and materials required to perform the work in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications. Estimated performance time is 290 calendar days. The estimated construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. It is anticipated that a firm Fixed Price Contract will be awarded as a result of this solicitation. Solicitation will be available approximately 10 July 1996. A nonrefundable charge of $43.25 per bid set will be collected. Checks must be made payable to the US Treasury. A site visit will be tentatively scheduled for 21 July 1996. Approximate award date is 27 August 1996. The SIC Code for this solicitation is 1542. This solicitation shall be unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
