PRESOLICITATION NOTICE. Eglin AFB FL has a requirement to Install Floor Coating, Building 110 & 130, Eglin AFB FL. Bid opening date of 08 Aug 96 is only an estimated date. This requirements was first synopsized on 05 Feb 96. This is the revised synopsis. Work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and material required to provide new floor coatings in designated areas of Buildings 130 and 110. Areas to receive new coating presently have a paint coating. The contractor shall be required to completely remove the existing coating. The method for removal shall be performed by abrasive sanding machines which will remove the coating without damaging the concrete cap. The sanding process shall leave a smooth uniform surface suitable for coating with a thin film coating system suitable for heavy-duty service in aircraft hangars. Shot blasting or water blasting are not acceptable substitutions for floor coating removal. Coating materials removed shall be collected and placed in 55 gallon metal drums. Hazardous materials will be collected at the job site by the government for disposal in accordance with federal regulations. The work will be done in four phases. The contractor will be given 10 consecutive days for each phase of this work, but not to exceed 40 days for the total job. Estimated dollar range is between $100,000 and $250,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Firms responding should indicate if they are a small business. Solicitation packages are available at a $20.00 charge. All requests must be submitted in writing.
