This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation N66001-96-R-0123 will be prepared on Standard Form 1449, Commercial Item Solicitation/Contract, and issued in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this solicitation/contract. The government intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price type contract to Applied Materials, 6 Jenner Street, #260, Irvine, CA 92718 to modify (2) government owned semiconductor processing systems, Applied Materials Model P5000. System 5103 will be converted for silicon and silicon dioxide plasma etching and system 5087 to silicon dioxide deposition and etching. Both systems will be converted to process from 110 mm to 150 mm silicon, silicon-on sapphire and silicon-on-insulator wafers. Performance will take place at both the contractor's plant and at the Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center, Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Division (NCCOSC RDTE DIV), San Diego, CA. The provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-37 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-10. The Standard Industrial Classification Code and Small Business Size Standard is 3559 with 500 employees.
