Sand Point Way NE, BIN C15700, Seattle, WA 98115 59 -- SCIENTIFIC EQUIPMENT FOR OCEANOGRAPHIC RESEARCH IN THE ANTARTIC
SOL 52ABNW600101 DUE 081396 POC For a copy of the solicitation call
206-526-6425. For further information call Contract Specialist Kristina
Gilmore at 206-526-6379 The Government has a requirement for two(2)
Sea-Bird Electronics (SBE) 911 plus CTD Systems or equal to be used by
the Southwest Fisheries Science Center's (SWFSC) Antaractic Ecosystem
Research Group (AERG) for oceanographic research in the Antarctic and
for collaborative research projects. Following is the recommended
equipment to accommodate the CTD System: (1) SBE-32 Carousel Water
Sampler (12 liter) or equal; (2) PN-70077 12 liter Niskin bottles with
Teflon Springs (15 each) or equal; (3) SBE 9 Plus Underwater unit for
911 plus CTD or equal; (4)PN-80582 300 Baud Modem or equal; (5)
SBE-1313 Disolved 02 Sensor or equal; (6) SBE 11 Plus Deck Unit for 911
CTD or equal; (7) PN-80673 Baud Model (Plug in Module) or equal; (8)
SBE-14 Remote Depth Readout or equal; (9) PN-24111 Datasonics 900-D
altimeter or equal; (10) PN-50182 Mount (altimeter) or equal; (11)
PN-17437 Cable (altimeter) or equal. The AERG requires a CTD for direct
measurement of salinity (conductivity), pressure, and temperature of
the ocean at various depths up to 6,000m. The CTD will be used on board
ships for measureing the above parameters in real time as the ship
lowers the instrument at a station. The sensors for temperature,
pressure, and conductivity shall be independently removable for
individual calibration. The CTD underwater unit must be able to work
with NMFS owned CTD deck units and function as spares and replacements.
Software must support the CTD units already owned by NMFS and the
software must be compatible with historical data produced by currently
owned CTD software. This is 100% Small Business set-aside. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by
the agency. See Note 26. (0180) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0357 19960701\59-0004.SOL)
