66 -- BIOROBOT WORKSTATION SOL NHLBI-HL-P-96-109 POC Kathleen J. Van Steelant, Contracting Officer, (301) 435-0364. It is the intent of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to purchase a BioRobot Workstation with the following minimum specifications: 1) Proven effective chemistry set for ultra pure DNA purification; 2) Shaker platform for automated mixing of samples; 3) Liquid level detection system; 4) Pager system to notify the operator of hands-on steps; and 5) Throughput of 96 samples of M13 DNA in two hours and 96 samples of plasmid DNA in three hours. The Contractor shall deliver, assemble and install the BioRobot Workstation at the Laboratory of Molecular Hematology, NHLBI. Following installation, the Contractor shall provide on-site training to the scientists in the Laboratory of Molecular Hematology. Proposals will be evaluated on the offeror's demonstrated ability to meet the technical specifications. A firm fixed-price type contract will be negotiated. It is anticipated that Request for Proposals (RFP) Number NHLBI-HL-P-96-109 will be issued on or about July 16, 1996.
