The Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with J.L. Shepherd and Associates for the procurement of a 120 Curie, cesium-137 gamma irradiator with an accompanying track and table system to support the Navy's dosimetry program. The gamma irradiator is a pneumatically operated fail safe device containing 12 curies of the radioactive isotope Cesium-137 and must contain all safety features as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
