76 -- CORRECTION TO PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED ANNOUNCEMENT. CHANGE THE TITLE TO TEXCEL RESEARCH INC. INFORMATION MANAGER SOL N00167-96-Q-0269 DUE 071596 POC Pandora Shields 301-227-1132 and Joyce Bell 301-227-1113. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Proposes to procure the Texcel Research, Inc's Information Manager, an SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language) database, that allow for the use, storage, and maintenance of IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) SGML data. Purchase of this DBMS (DataBase Management System) is necessary in order to store NSWCCD's SGML data for maintenance and retrieval for use in new IETMs. The proposed acquisition will provide for a four user license for Information Manager on a UNIX platform. Information Manager is a native SGML repository, that will allow for the authoring, document management, and revision control of native SGML documents. SGML is a rigid standard for text definition and document markup that is platform independent. Information Manager is required to (a) support the storage, management and maintenance of SGML document data at the level of the lowest SGML element (b) support the management and maintenance of multiple versions of the same document without redundancy in data storage, and (c) obtain (a) and (b) without impacting database performance. Texcel Research, Inc. is the sole owner of the Information Manager product. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. See note 22. (0180)
