CONCRETE STRUCTURES SOL RS-RES-96-062 DUE 081496 POC Mary H. Mace,
Contracting Officer, 301/415-7314 /Paulette Smith, Contract Negotiator,
301/415-6594 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requires technical
assistance to identify and evaluate current versions of structural and
seismic design codes and standards that will have an impact on the
review of standard reactor designs, and to determine and evaluate the
need for revisions to the Regulatory Guides 1.142, Safety-Related
Concrete Structures for Nuclear Power Plants (Other Than Reactor
Vessels and Containments), and 1.143, Design Guidance for Radioactive
Waste Management Systems, Structures, and Components Installed in
Light-Water-Cooled Nuclear Power Plants. The main goal of this program
is to provide the basis for updating the above regulatory guides. The
contractor will (1) determine the needed changes or revisions to
regulatory guides 1.142 and 1.143 to bring guides up to date with
current industry codes and standards and identify areas of the codes
and standards that are applicable to regulatory guides 1.142 and 1.143,
(2) recommend wording changes to the regulatory guides that would
satisfy NRC requirements for standard reactors and cover revised or
updated industry code criteria, and (3) recommend the most appropriate
course of action necessary to make the changes identified (e.g.,
write/revise regulatory guides, or combine regulatory guides). The
proposed period of performance is 15 months. Proposals for this
requirement may be submitted by all concerns, i.e., large businesses,
small businesses, and small businesses owned and controlled by socially
and economically disadvantaged individuals. A source list comprising
the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all concerns requesting
a copy of the solicitation, with large busineses identified by an
asterisk, will be provided with the solicitation. In order to identify
large businesses on the list, a request for the solicitation should
indicate the size of the business based upon a SIC code of 8999. The
size standard for this solicitation is average annual receipts for
preceding three fiscal years not to exceed $5.0 million. A copy of the
solicitation and all subsequent amendments will be provided to each
requester. Interested firms should submit written requests for RS-
RES-96-062. Telephone requests will not be honored. Closing date for
proposals is 30 days after issue date of solicitation. (0180) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0012 19960701\A-0012.SOL)
