Z -- CONSTRUCTION, REPLACE ROOF - BUILDING 101, PLUM ISLAND ANIMAL DISEASE CENTER, GREENPORT, NEW YORK SOL 1387-3K15-96 DUE 082796 POC Contract Specialist, Marva Huggins, Contracting Officer, Christina Beaulieu 301-344-0252 Z-Solicitation Notice - The Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision, etc., necessary to Replace Roof - Building 101 at Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC), Greenport, New York. The work includes: removal and disposal of approximately 80,000 square feet of the 4 ply built- up roof and insulation, pitch pockets, perimeter gravel stops, fascias, gutter, scuppers, downspouts, base flashing, cants, metal counterflashings, and expansion joint covers; this work must be carefully done in order to preserve the biocontainment ability of the roof deck; install a new roofing system consisting of 3 plies of fiberglass felts in solid moppings of asphalt, with an SBS modified bitumen cap sheet surfaced with ceramic granules, with an insulation system of polyisocyanurate board bottom layers, and a perlite board top layer; perform minor crack repair in roof slabs; install a very small amount of structural steel framing reinforcement; and install all necessary and appurtenant equipment and items as shown on the plans and as described in the specifications. The total Estimated Cost of Construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Time for completion of the work will be 180 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 13, 1996, at Plum Island. Sets of plans and specifications will be available for a non-refundable charge of $75.00 (check or money order) made payable to USDA, Agricultural Research Service.
