Specialist (502) 894-6108 Sources sought for all requirements for whole
blood, red blood cells, and blood components for the VA medical Center,
Louisville, Kentucky. Presently the only identified source is the
American Red Cross Center in Louisville, KY. Source must be identified
by the Center for Biologics, Evaluation and Research of the Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) as a supplier and must comply with all
Association of Blood Banks and comply with the Clinic Laboratory
Improvement Act. It is a desire of the VA that the source provide
continuing education credits, reference lab testing, and membership on
their technical advisory board. In an emergency, the source must be
able to provide blood and/or blood products within one to three hours.
Items include but are not limited to: whole blood, red cells, frozen
cells, deglycerolized red cells, red cells/leukoreduced/washed,
platelets, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate/pooled (10), platelet
pheresis, granulocytes pheresis, red cells/leukoreduced/filtered,
antigen screened unit, CMV antibody test, Irradiation, platelet cross
match. Interested vendors should submit proof of capability to safisfy
the requirements. Information submitted will be screened and
solicitations may be issued to those vendors who, in the sole judgment
of the Contracting activity, have the potential of successfully
meeting our requirements. Required information must be received within
