The contractor shall begin early production preparations for DESS including ordering and tracking long lead material. Negotiations will be conducted with Lockheed Martin Defense Systems, Pittsfield, MA. Lockheed Martin is the sole manufacturer of the FBM Fire Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge and in-place capability to perform the required effort. See Note 22.
