CRADA CAPABILITY REQUEST - The Defense Mapping Agency is interested in forming partnership/s with industry and/or academia under authority granted by Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 for Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) for simulating navigation system performance sensitivities to errors in gravimetric input data. The simulation will have the capability to model various inertial navigation systems (stand alone and/or integrated with GPS or astro sensors), vehicle paths or trajectories, and gravity field parameters to establish error budgets in terms of position and velocity errors as functions of gravity modeling accuracies. DMA has gravity data holdings, expertise, and has developed techniques and hardware/software for modeling gravity fields. The resulting simulator will have a graphic display capability, and will be used to validate customer requirements for gravity data, to determine gravity survey requirements, as well as evaluating the ability of integrated navigation systems to be used in measurements of gravimetric data. Collaborators interested in pursuing such an effort are requested to submit a letter not to exceed five pages in length by August 1,1996, describing the collaborator's capabilities and what benefits both parties, the collaborator and DMA might reasonably expect to derive from such an arrangement.
