NCCOSC RDTE Division Code 214B 53570 Silvergate Avenue Bldg A33 San
Diego, CA 92152-5113. The Navy anticipates a future acquisition of a
Global Broadcast Service terminal capable of receiving signals in the
Ku and Ka frequency bands from commercial satellites and the UHF Follow
On satellites. Interested parties are invited to review a draft
specification and offer comments and suggestions. As the GBS program is
designed around NDI/COTS equipment, it is the Navy's goal to utilize
commercially available items whenever possible. The terminal will be
configured as either a single or dual antenna configuration. In a dual
antenna configuration, the prime antenna will hand over to the
non-prime antenna anytime the prime antenna enters a zone where the
path to the satellite is blocked. The system shall include all items
required to receive and distribute the digital satellite signals. These
shall include but not be limited to: antennas, antenna controllers,
antenna feeds, Low Noise Block Downconverters, receivers, Integrated
Receiver Decoders, IF matrices, combiner/amplifiers, spectrum
analyzers, and interconnecting cables. Submission of descriptive
literature such as catalogs and product data sheets as well as
published price lists are encouraged. The specification can be viewed
at http://www.nosc.mil/contract/bin or a copy can be requested by mail
or by fax from Mr. JC Norris, at (619) 553-6976. Literature should be
mailed before 18 Jul 96. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0611 19960702\SP-0001.MSC)
