S -- IN-STORE DELI/BAKERY SERVICES FOR EUROPE SOL EURODB-6180-0002 POC Contract Specialist Bill Lair (804) 734-9844 (Site Code HQCAAA) This presolicitation notice is issued as a preliminary step in developing or identifying interested sources to provide instore deli/bakery operations for Commissary stores located in Europe. Services will be provided as follows: 1. The product will be primarily U.S. product. 2. Product will be ordered by the Government based on suggested order by vendors. It will be shipped government owned at port of embarkation, via government carrier to Europe at Government expense. 3. It is then distributed to appropriate commissary and issued to the contractor's deli/bakery personnel. Contractor can be paid for product by ''fast pay''. He cannot be paid for the attendant services until anticipated 60-90 days shelf-life when product would be ''serviced to the patron''. The contractor will be responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, displaying, merchandising and processing products for sale to commissary customers. The Government will furnish equipment, supplies and secure space in the commissary for the contractor operated delicatessen/bakery. The contractor will retain ownership of the products until purchased by the commissary customer. It is contemplated that this presolicitation notice will be followed by a conference prior to issuance of a formal solicitation which is projected to be issued on 1 October 96, and close on 31 October 96.
