FISC Norfolk Det Washington has a requirement for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Detachment (Plant Equipment Support Office) to procure an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Flourescence Spectrometer to be used for analysis of metal components at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. The equipment provided must be capable of sending data for automated data extraction and processing to the existing Hewlett-Packard Shipyard Laboratory Management System/Laboratory Management Automation Systems (SLIMS/LAS) which interconnects all Naval Shipyard laboratories. The ability to communicate with SLIMS/LAS is a mandatory requirement for all shipyard laboratory equipment.
