Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for computer
hardware/software upgrades to the existing Advanced General Aviation
Research Simulator (AGARS), for which the Government intends to issue
a delivery order under GSA contract GS-35F-0135D to Silicon Graphics,
Inc. (SGI) in accordance with AMS section 3.2.2.2 and 3.2.2.4. The
AGARS systems is based solely on SGI computer hardware. SGI uses a
proprietary bus structure which is incompatible with that of any other
known manufacturer. Additionally, the software will run only under the
IRIX operating system. Market Survey has been conducted which supports
the Governments decision to issue this delivery order to SGI.Sic Code
