The work involves construction of a single story 16200 GSF Cold/Dry Storage Building and a single story 15456 GSF Recreation Building; finished site grading, clearing, land- scaping; and the provision of associated site utilities including electricity, gas, water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems. Salient features of the Cold/Dry Storage Buildings include: 24 ft. height, two grade level loading docks, 6000 SF of freezer/cooler space, 10 ft. high masonry and 2 inch metal roof/wall panels, and dehumidification system. Salient features of the Recreation Building include: steel frame structure, block and brick veneer walls, 2 inch metal roof panels, and HVAC systems. The period of performance for construction is 364 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Plans and Specifications shall be available on or about July 22, 1996, only from the Architect/Engineering firm of Edmund L. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Request must be in writing and a $140.00 refundable bid-deposit is required. This bid deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money-order, made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to the A/E firm at the time of request. Plans and specifications will be made avail- able for pick-up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charge must be pre-paid and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-served basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer) plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for August 6, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. (local) at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids. Bid-opening is scheduled for August 29, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. (local) at the A/E's office.
