JUNE 1996.The following information is hereby added to ''paragraph vi)
REQUIREMENT DISCRIPTION'': 1.) The copier models being offered MUST be
either newly manufactured or re-manufactured. Re-conditioned or
re-furbished copiers will not be considered for this procurement and
will be found to be technically unacceptable. The copier models being
offered must be in ''current production'' as of the date the offer is
submitted. For the purposes of this procurement, the following
definitions shall apply: ''Current Production'' shall mean that the
copier model is being manufactured as new equipment for the United
States market. Discontinued models which are only being made available
as remanufactured equipment are not acceptable. Any models being
offered as ''Re-manufactured'' are also acceptable, however they must
have been inspected and tested to ''new machine'' standards. Copier
remanufacturing process: The offeror in their technical proposal, shall
discribe in detail any process used commercially, and that will be used
under this requirement, to newly remanufacture a particular model or
models of copier(s) offered herein to meet new machine specifications.
This description shall include the types of parts that are replaced,
and the testing procedures, etc. which are used to define ''new
machine'' standards. Note: Any newly remanufactured equipment offered
under this RFP must also be in current production at the time the offer
is submitted. All copier models furnished after award, as new or
re-manufactured, must not have been used at any other time prior to
delivery after the manufacturing or remanufacturing process. 2.) The
following minimum copier speed shall apply to the various volume bands:
Offered Volume Band I copiers shall have a minimum copy speed of 15
letter-size (8.5'' x 11'') copies per minute. Offered Volume Band II
copiers shall have a minimum copy speed of 20 letter-size (8.5'' x
11'') copies per minute. Offered Volume Band III copiers shall have a
minimum copy speed of 30 letter-size (8.5''x 11'') copies per minute.
Offered Volume Band IV copiers shall have a minimum copy speed of 45
letter-size (8.5'' x 11'') copies per minute. 3.) The following shall
apply to placements of copiers during the last year of the contract: No
additional activities or copiers will be added to the resulting
contract during the last year of the contract, unless it is mutually
agreed upon by the contractor and the contracting officer. 4.) In
response to inquires received, the estimated number of machines to be
used at Dalgren are approximately 225 and at Indian Head are 33. 5.)
The closing date for this requirement is hereby extended FROM 2:00
Eastern on 15 July 1996 TO 2:00 Eastern on 25 July 1996. 6.) Questions
