SOLICITATION OR SPECIFICATION PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED OR RESPONDED TO.
NO REIMBURSEMENT OF ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION
WILL BE MADE. The Navy is seeking information for state-of-the-art
physical or chemical stabilizer/dust suppressants for application to:
unpaved light and heavy (5-ton)tracked and rubber tired vehicle
roadways, parking lots, airfield runway subgrades and shoulders,
helicopter pads, open and sloped areas, and foot traffic areas located
at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA.
Stabilizer/dust suppressant technologies of interest are those that are
non-toxic and will not contaminate local groundwater and air quality.
The product must be durable, maintenance-free, and able to withstand a
dry arid environment over a life span of 8 to 10 years. Participants
must provide a chemical analysis of the EPA priority pollutants and the
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSD) for the products. As a result of the
information received, a questionaire will be sent to all participants
who will be required to complete and return by August 8, 1996. The
returned questionaire and the chemical analysis provided in the initial
information will be used as a basis for selecting firms for
demonstration/presentation of their product and application. The
presentation/demonstration will involve the firm applying their product
to an approximate 12 ft. X 15 ft. area at their own expense. Based on
the results of the demonstration, participants may be asked to apply
their dust suppressants/stabilizers (at their own expense) to a section
of unpaved surface for further demonstration. Interested participants
should send a letter of interest and capabilities with all pertinent
brochures and descriptive literature that completely describes their
product capabilities to DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY, CBC CODE 272311, BLDG
