Dahlgren Division, Panama City, FL plans to award a five year
Requirements Contract for a Shipboard Air Driven Booster Pump.
Estimated Quantities are 141 each year of the five year contract for a
total of 705. Pumps proposed should be currently commercially
available. The pump will be furnished in accordance with Coastal
Systems Station performance specification PRF-CSS-2530-96-001, which
will be furnished with the solicitation. The booster pump shall be air
driven, reciprocating, single staged, and double acting so that it
compresses air as the drive piston moves in either direction to
efficiently utilize drive air. The pump shall be configured for use
with an external pilot valve and shall be capable of compressing inlet
air at 2100-3100 psig up to an outlet minimum pressure of 5100 psig.
Drive air shall be derived from the psig pressure air inlet to the
pump. The pump shall require no power source other than the ship's
service high pressure air. The pump shall be capable of raising the
pressure of 2100-3100 psig inlet air to a pressure of 5100 psig. The
gas compression system shall be isolated from the drive air system to
prevent contamination of the breathing air circuit by the drive air.
Maximum Compression Ratio is 25 to 1. Pump must be self cooling.
Delivery is to The Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, FL 30 days
