202-720-8946. The Department of Agriculture Office, National Finance
Center (NFC), is seeking information on high volume Compact Disc - Read
Only Memory (CD-ROM) production equipment and related software. Our
current operating environment is on IBM's system ES 9000 series
computer hardware, operating under MVS. USDA encourages any
organization specializing in the area of high-volume CD-ROM production
equipment and software to submit descriptive literature demonstrating
its high volume CD-ROM production technology, capabilities and
pricing. The Government will not pay for the information submitted. No
solicitation document exists. This is not a Request For Proposals. Any
Requests received for a copy of an RFP will not be acknowledged. The
Government will use the information obtained from this effort to
understand the capabilities of the marketplace and may use the
information in determining its future requirements. All information is

States Department of Agriculture's National Finance Center (NFC) at New
Orleans intends to contract with the only known source(Computer
Associates Inc.(CA)) for CA- Realia II Workbench for CICS and Batch.
NFC believes this is the only mainframe based software product which
will meet its requirements as follows: (1) works cooperatively with
Computer Associates' PC based CA-Realia II Workbench which NFC uses as
a GUI front-end for analysis, animation and debugging of mainframe
CICS COBOL programs supporting the year 2000 conversion of NFC
applications, (3) can be integrated with CA90s Distributed Processing
Services, a client/server process enabling the capabilities in the PC
based CA-Realia II Workbench environment, (4) can detect and prevent
abends on the mainframe before they occur, (5) permits NFC programmers
to interrupt program execution at any time to observe and modify the
values of data items, and (6) the COBOL analysis features of CA-Realia
II Workbench helps NFC programmers understand program structure and
logic, trace program paths and display data item definitions and
references. Technical Support includes software modifications and
expert technical assistance 24 hrs/day, 365 days/year. USDA encourages
potential offerors that can provide software and full-time technical
support for software which has similar capabilities to submit
documentation which demonstrates all of these capabilities and pricing
information for the products/services. No solicitation document
exists. Any requests for copies of an RFP will not be acknowledged.
Information must be submitted no later than July 25, 1996. Submit two
