intends to procure on a sole source basis to Perimmune, Inc., 1330
Piccard Drive, Rockville, Maryland, 20850-4396 for providing the
Government with data on the specific DRD4 genotypes of Baltimore
Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA) participants. The period of
performance will be for one (1) twelve month period with options to
renew for three (3) additional one-year periods. Specifically, the
contractor shall perform 1,000 assays for the D4 dopamine receptor
(DRD4) gene on DNA from participants in the Baltimore Longitudinal
Study of Aging (BLSA). It is believed that Perimmune, Inc. is the
sole-source for this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1
because of the following: Specific biochemical and molecular genetic
assays must be performed in order to determine the DRD4 genotype.
Perimmune has extracted the needed DNA from BLSA participants for the
