Z -- DEDICATED EXHAUST FANS REPLACEMENT SOL IFB672-134-96 DUE 090696 POC Gilberto Ratcliff, Contracting Officer The VA Medical Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico requires the procurement of a construction project titled ''Dedicated Exhaust Fans Replacement Project'' (Project No. 672-722-0080). Work includes the furnishing of all specialized labor and supervision, material, equipment and associated costs for the substitution of thirty-two (32) exhaust fans and related ductwork in the existing penthouse of the VAMC main building. This project is to route the discharge air from the exhaust fans, outside the penthouse to, provide a safer place for maintenance personnel during fan maintenance activities. The new fans will be located inside a new penthouse louvered structure to allow more maintenance space and to correct water filtration problems on existing penthouse structure. This project will also include the construction of an access stair from an adjacent roof to the penthouse roof level and replacement of existing insulation on exposed ductwork of supply fans 7a, 7b, 7c and AH-13 on the roof adjacent to the penthouse and certain other related mechanical, structural, electrical, limited asbestos abatement, and demolition work as required by drawings and specifications. Bidders are requested to visit the site and attend the Pre-Bid Conference. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. This procurement is set aside for small business concerns and subject to availability of funds. Bid documents will be available on or about August 1, 1996. Plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. Solicitation request will be provided for a non-refundable cost of $25.00 as a money order or bank certified or manager's check payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
