Z -- REPLACEMENT OF BUIT-UP ROOF SOL IFB672-135-96 DUE 090696 POC Gilberto Ratcliff, Contracting Officer The VA Medical Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico requires the procurement of a construction project titled ''Replacement of existing built-up roof between areas ''A'' &'' ''B and ''C'' & ''D'' first floor''. Work includes the removal of the existing built-up roof and replacement with a gravel, insulation board, hot asphalt built-up roof and flashing materials along side the perimeter of the area and all fans and equipment must be installed according to drawings and specifications. MSDS of materials to be used shall be provided, full coordination with the Chief, Maintenance & Repair for related units shutdowns and replacement work. Work in both areas shall be completed in 45 calendar days. All OSHA Safety requirements shall be addressed by the contractor while doing his construction work. Use of elevators is conditioned to the proper use of them. Demolition, disposal and installation of all work related is the responsibility of the contractor. Contractor must provide at all time full protection from any leak to the interior of the area that is being worked. There are approximately 18,000 square feet between the two areas to be worked. The built-up roof replacement will carry a ten (10) years warranty. Bidders are requested to visit the site and attend the Pre-Bid Conference. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. This procurement is set aside for small business concerns and subject to availability of funds. Bid documents will be available on or about August 1, 1996. Plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. Solicitation request will be provided for a non-refundable cost of $25.00 as a money order or bank certified or manager's check payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
