proposals for archeological survey at Lava Beds National Monument,
Siskiyou and Modoc Counties, California. The projects area will include
five units totalling approximately 3200 acres. The goals of the survey
will be: (1) compliance with Section 110 (a) (2) (A) of the National
Historic Preservation Act as amended; (2) the rerecording of
archeological sites recorded in the 1950s and 1960s; (3) the inventory
of additional Monument lands known to be of high archeological
sensitivity; (4) the inventory of Monument lands proposed for
prescribed burns; (5) the evaluation of recorded cultural resources for
their inclusion in the Lava Beds National Monument Archeological
District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and (6)
comparison of data obtained, to results of recent similar projects in
northeast California. This will be a firm-fixed price type contract.
Estimated cost range is $25,000 to $100,000. Proposed contract listed
here provides for a 100% small purchase/labor surplus area set-aside.
