R -- RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER SOL 581-28-96 DUE 083096 POC Mike Hughey, 304-429-6755, ext 2919 Radiation Safety Officer will establish, execute and control radiation policies and procedures in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) JCAHO, FDA, Department of Transportation and any other regulatory commission that has jurisdiction over Nuclear Medicine activities. He/She will communicate policies in writing to employees; assure VA compliance with all licensing agencies; assist this medical center with a Nuclear Radiation Safety Program; provide guidance and direction in all potentially serious problem matters; and continue ongoing education or personnel in the handling, processing and utilization of radio nuclides. These services will be performed as necessary and when needed to complete VA requirements. Contract will be for base year with (2) (1) year options. Pending availability of funds.
