Z -- PROVIDE SPILL CONTAINMENT, HEATING OIL FUEL TANKS, FORT LEWIS, WASHINGTON SOL DAKF57-96-B-0025 DUE 083096 POC Contract Specialist Karl Johnson ext 205 (206) 967-2151 (Site Code DAKF57) Work includes retrofitting, tightness testing, removal, disposal and replacement of approximately 129 heating oil underground storage tanks (UST's) and above ground storage tanks (AST's) on Fort Lewis, Washington. The approximate number of UST's and AST's involved in this project are, respectfully, 98 UST's and 31 AST's. Tank volumetric capacities range from about 275 gallons through 1000 gallons. Retrofitting of tanks includes the following: installation of standard spill containment devices on both AST's and UST's; installation of seismic bracing and overfill alarms on AST's; installation of double wall piping and interstitial monitoring equipment on any UST that is replaced. Tightness testing is restricted to UST's and the actual number of UST's requiring replacement and/or disposal will not be known until tanks are tightness tested. Work will also include excavation, removal, and disposal of contaminated soil. Completion time is 365 calendar days. Estimated cost of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement will be issued as unrestricted. Estimated issue date of this procurement is August 1, 1996.
