The work includes the complete removal and disposal of the existing elevator control system, wiring and cables. Furnishing and installing a new elevator control system, door operator, hoisting switches, governor, motor, hoist cables, governor cable and compensation cables. The existing elevator was supplied in 1952 under Specification No. DC-3638 by Gust Lagerquist and Sons. The estimated price range of the work is $100,001 to $250,000. The work is located at Canyon Ferry Dam and Powerplant approximately 17 miles northeast of Helena, Montana in Lewis & Clark County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available July 25, 1996. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before July 16, 1996. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for August 27, 1996 at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, 316 N 26th Street, Billings, Montana. The contract is to be completed by December 1, 1996. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the following office of the Bureau of Reclamation: Great Plains Regional Office, Federal Building, Room 2031, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
