The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to renovate/repair three (3) animal holding room wings at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in Plum Island, NY. Work includes plumbing, electrical, painting, air lock door replacement, roofing, etc. Contractors are advised that this facility is a quarantine research laboratory located on an island 1-1/2 miles off the northern-most tip of Long Island (Orient Point), NY. Transportation incidental to the performance of this project may be provided by Government-furnished boats. The estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $750,000. This project must be completed within 180 days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation No. IFB 12-3615-96 contains further information and plans and specifications and will be available on or about July 22, 1996.
