812-854- 3735 Replace Plumbing System for Heating and Cooling Anechoic
Test Facility (ATF) at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane, IN
in accordance with Statement of Work and NSWC Specification. The ATF
is used to measure the performance of acoustic devices at controlled
pressures and temperatures to simulate operation under ocean
conditions. Contractor shall design new piping system as an automated
system which the operator can control from the ATF test lab area.
Piping system shall provide means to pressurize the pressure vessel to
any pressure up to 2250 psig by pumping water from the reservoir to
the pressure vessel. The maximum design pressure and the maximum
operating pressure are 1500 psig, but must be capable of proof testing
at 2250 psig. Pressurization rate shall not exceed 110 psi per minute
at any pressure. ASMECodes are applicable. Insulation shall be
IMCOLOCK or equal with a 3/4 inch thickness. The piping system shall
provide a means to draw a vacuum of 20 inches mercury on the pressure
vessel and reservoir. There is an existing vacuum service available at
the pressure vessel and reservoir. The vacuum is used to deareate the
water. Contractor shall install consistent and compatible piping
components. Delivery and installation within 45 days. All responsible
