Washington. This solicitation consists of 0.015 mile of grading,
culverts, riprap, base and paving. Project includes: clearing &
grubbing; construction survey & staking; contractor sampling & testing;
temporary traffic control; traffic control devices; 37 ton minor
asphalt concrete; 7 cuyd minor concrete structures; 70 lnft 9'-4'' x
13'-3'' arch structural plate culvert; 250 lnft silt fence; 1,050 cuyd
excavation; 1,195 cuyd embankment; 380 cuyd unclassified borrow; 66
sqyd earthwork geotextiles; 476 lbs reinforcing steel; 140 cuyd riprap;
114 sqyd removal of asphalt pavement; and other small items of work.
Work shall be completed by November 8, 1996. Estimated price range is
between $100,000 and $250,000. Presolicitation Notices are being
provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis.----The following applies only to
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
