Z -- CONVERT FACILITY #2428 TO BASE EDUCATION CENTER Sol. F10603-96-B0020. Due 082296. POC: SrA Kacey Draper, Contract Buyer, 208-828-2664/William W. Oakland, Contracting Officer, 208-828-2664. The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, supplies, equipment and supervision necessary to convert facility #2428 from dormitory rooms into offices and classrooms on the second and third floors. The center portion of the first floor will be renovated to include the addition of an elevator off of the lobby area and upgrade to the interior finishes of the main entrance. The work will consist of not limited to: remodel two floors (approximately 16,000 sf) of dorm rooms into office spaces and classrooms which will include repair of electrical system to meet specific user requirements; provide modifications to fire protection system; repair roof by replacing the existing built up roof with a new prefinished metal roof with a pitch of 5 in 12 (possibly modified Mansard style); upgrade HVAC system for new configuration of each floor; upgrade restrooms on all floors and have them all meet ADA requirements; upgrade all room finishes to include carpet, drywall on all exterior block walls, new suspended ceiling lights and paint walls, possibly an accent wall with wall covering; provide PA system between the Education Center's Customer Service area to all three floors under their control or use and in each classroom; upgrade hallways and stairwells with new finishes, carpet, suspended ceiling with new lighting; upgrade main entrance to reflect new usage of facility and provide directional and informational signs; construct elevator shaft and provide/install a 5'6'' x 7' elevator (basic and chaep) to meet ADA requirements. The facility will require some abatement of asbestos containing materials prior to the renovation portion of project. This work will be located at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. The total performance period for this project will be 180 days. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
