CECOM is announcing a modification to an current sole source contract to increase the existing options for the manufacture of the AN/AVR-2A(V) Laser Detecting Set and the TS-4321A/AVR-2A(V) Laser Detecting Test Set and some ancillary items. The current contract has an option for 1,000 Laser Detecting Sets which is being increased by 250 units. The current contract has an option for 30 Laser Detecting Test Sets which is being increased by 60 units. The option for various ancillary spare parts is also being increased. Due to implementation of recent engineering changes, a level III drawing package is not available for this system. The AN/AVR-2A(V) is compatible with the MILES/AGES II training system, has a removable and reprogrammable User Data Module, and has sensitivity plus enhanced threat processing capabilities. The TS-4321A/AVR-2A(V) Test Set is capable of testing the AN/AVR-2A(V) and AN/AVR-2. The contractor has demonstrated experience in the design, development, manufacture, installation and testing of laser warning receivers on a production basis. The contractor's design experience includes maintaining very low false alarm rates. The contractor's manufacturing capability includes the fabrication and assemble Fabry-Perot Stepped Etalon Based Laser Detection Systems and test the systems in both near and far field on a production basis. The contractor's facility has a security clearance level of Secret at a minimum. The contractor is capable of delivery up to 40 fully qualified (including First Article Test) An/AVR-2A(V) systems and 2 TS-4321A/AVR-2A test sets per month within 15 months of award. The Government plans to award a ''0'' dollar modification to the existing fixed price contract in fourth quarter 1996. Points of contact are a stated in paragraph 11. above.
