COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 11,1996 PSA#1634USDA, Forest Service, PO Box 2750, Asheville, NC 28802 66 -- PORTABLE PHOTOSYNTHESIS SYSTEMS SOL RFQ SE-96-73. Due 080696.
Contact Nancy H Meadows, 704/257-4297, FAX 704/257-4876; Contracting
Officer, Byron B Brown, 704/257-4288. Forestry Sciences Laboratory,
Athens, Georgia. Two Li-Cor LI-6400 Portable Photosynthesis Systems or
approved equal, as follows: Two complete dual path non-dispersive
infrared analyzers that measure both CO2 and H2O conc. One analyzer
measures CO2 and H2O conc in the sample chamber while the second
analyzer simultaneously measures CO2 and H2O in the reference
airstream. Both analyzers must be located in the sensor head so that
the gas conc are measured within the leaf cuvette mixing volume. Gas
samples cannot be pumped from the leaf cuvette to the analyzers through
hoses, as this will result in time delays that confound correlations
between gas exchange and changes in environmental drivers. The system
software must be able to automatically and independently set and hold
the leaf chamber CO2 mole fraction between 0 and 2000 ppm, and the H2O
mole fraction to a user-specified value using a fast null-balance
procedure. All responsible parties may submit an offer which will be
considered. Submit requests for solicitation, in writing or by fax, to
Nancy H Meadows at the address shown in block 7. See Note 22. (187) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0450 19960710\66-0008.SOL)
