ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR PROJECT #63015. The Defense Mapping Agency has
a need for Architect/Engineering services to include survey;
investigation; preparation of contract drawings, specifications, and
cost estimates; and construction award services. Project design will
provide refurbishment of interior spaces of the Fremont Building
located in Bethesda, Maryland. The building is a four story office and
map production facility comprising a total of approximately 90,000
square feet. The project will address exterior landscaping, walls,
flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, workspaces, corridors, stairwells,
toilets, fire protection systems, lighting, HVAC equipment, elevator,
electrical switchgear and feeder. Building is a secured structure with
some portions subject to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility
(SCIF) access. U.S. citizenship by contractor employees performing
functions at the project location is a requirement. Construction cost
range is estimated to be between $2,500,000.00 and $3,000,000.00. Total
design period with reviews is approximately 180 days. Fixed price A/E
services are required for the preparation of plans, specifications, and
cost estimates for the Defense Mapping Agency, Bethesda, MD. The A/E
selection criteria shall be: (a) Specialized experience of the firm in
Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering Design
development; (b) Professional capacity of the firm to accomplish the
contemplated work within the required time limits; (c) Professional
qualifications of the staff to be assigned to this project; (d) Past
experience, if any, of the firm with respect to performance on past
Department of Defense contracts; (e) Location of the form in the
general geographic area of the project; (f) Volume of work previously
awarded to the firm by the Department of Defense. A/E firms which meet
the requirements described in this announcement are invited to submit
a completed SF 254 and SF 255 to the office shown above (firms having
previously submitted an SF 254 within the last year need only submit
an SF 255). All interested parties must respond to this announcement by
1 September 1996 to be considered for selection. This is a 100% small
business set-aside. This design project is scheduled for award in
