R -- ADMINSTRATIVE AND MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES FOR MAIL OPERATIONS IN GOVERNMENT-OWNED FACILITITES. SOL RFP-96-030 DUE 090596 POC YOLANDA L ABNEY, 202-708-6498, Eileen Ayoroa, Contract Specialist, 202-708-9356. This acquisition is being offered for competition limited to eligible 8 (a) concerns. The applicable SIC code for these concerns is 8744 - Facilities Support Management Services. This contract requires Adminstrative and Management Support Services for Mail Operations in Five Facilities located in the Washington, D.C. area. This service will be Contractor operated in Government-Owned and Government- Furnished facilities. There are 163 mail delivery points serviced by three van shuttles or clerk/carriers who provide up to four pick-ups and deliveries to each mail stop daily. The mail stops are subject to change due to logistical changes of departments. Also, special distributions and mass produced notification materials are distributed to Department employees. The Contractor in conjunction with the Mail Management Section serves as a focal point for liaison with the U.S. Postal Service and other Government and private organizations on mail matters concerning the Department. Sometime in 1997, the Department will move back to their original Headquarters Facility, FB-6, which is now undergoing renovation. The period of performance: base year with four options years.
