S -- SOLID WASTE COLLECTION/DISPOSAL AND MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES AT THE NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD, PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA Sol N00187-96-B-8825, Due 082796, contact Dawn R. The work includes providing all labor, supervision, materials, supplies, transportation, refuse containers, specialty containers, equipment, and management services necessary to collect and dispose of Disposable Solid Waste which consists of Processable Solid Waste, Non-Processable Solid Waste, Industrial Process Waste which includes the collection and disposal of garbage, debris, rubbish, tires, and other discarded burnable and non-burnable solid wastes, sandblast grit, dry dock mud, and white good resulting from residential, industrial, commercial, community activities. The Contractor shall furnish and maintain various sized containers and equipment. The Contractor shall operate and maintain a Government furnished tipping platform facility for the purpose of segregating minor amounts processable solid waste, non-processable solid waste (inclusive of tires, empty paint cans and drums), salvageable metals, recyclable paper and cardboard, freon recovery, and other services. The scope of work also includes collection and delivery of asbestos, gas cylinders, relocation of containers, street sweeping, and cleaning of grounds and streets. The Contractor shall be required to submit records, logs, data, inventory, and estimates. Excluded from this function is collection and disposal of: 1) hazardous waste; solids or dissolved materials in domestic sewage; and 3) infectious/medical wastes. All work to be accomplished by means of a Combination Firm Fixed Price and Indefinite Quantity type contract. The contract term shall be for a period of one year. The Government shall have the option to extend the term of the contract services for additional periods of one to twelve months. The total contract term, including exercise of any options, shall not exceed 60 months. Plans and specifications will be made available on or about 26 July 1996.
